The place
Inside the horseshoe.
Ivey Lake bends in a horseshoe, and the house stands on the headland inside the bend: five private acres of forest and lawn with a dock of its own. It is built of square-cut, dovetailed Western Red Cedar to a design by architect Ted Murray, and a caretaker lives on the grounds.

Gatherings
Everyone under one roof.
Family getaways and reunions, retreats and milestone birthdays. The whole house and headland are yours for the length of your stay, and everyone wakes up here.

Arrive
The Great Hall is where everyone gathers: a vaulted cedar ceiling, an antler chandelier and the baronial stone fireplace.

The morning after
Six ensuite bedrooms, so everyone wakes up under the same roof.

By the water
The dock is a short walk across the lawn: coffee at first light, a canoe before breakfast, and Mount Currie across the water.
Not an event venue: a small celebration is considered case by case, and the house is quiet after 10 pm.
Through the year
Every season, the whole house.
Winter fires after a day at Whistler, long evenings on the dock in summer, still water in autumn and the trout season opening in spring.

Autumn
The forest around the lake turns gold, and on a calm day the water doubles it.

Winter
The lake freezes for weeks at a time. Whistler Blackcomb is about 45 minutes away.

Spring
Snow stays on Mount Currie as the lake opens. Catch-and-release trout season reopens on April 1.

Summer
Long days on the dock, a canoe and kayaks on the lake, and the hot tub for the evenings.
Three nights minimum, four over Christmas and New Year.
